Dr. Dee Gupta
I am responsible for closing security gaps for a living. Nobody was responsible for the one at home. So I took it on.

I have met too many people who are brilliant at building a career and quietly losing touch with the person they were building it with. Nobody warned them. Nothing was on fire. It just drifted. I care because I believe, deeply and personally, that growing together with your partner is what makes every other ambition worth it. At work you can be replaced. At home you cannot.
I am Deeksha Gupta. I hold a doctorate in Electrical and Computer Engineering (Dr.-Ing., as we say in Germany), I am a cybersecurity manager leading teams that protect critical systems, and I am a certified Business Coach. My job is to make sure the important things are checked regularly, that someone owns each of them, and that small problems are caught before they become expensive. At some point I asked why I had never applied the same care to the most important partnership in my life. Not because anything was wrong. Because I wanted to keep it that way.
For more than half a decade I have worked in a field where “nothing is wrong” is not an answer but a question: how do you know? Through coaching, I have sat with people sprinting from one milestone to the next who could not understand why they came home empty. Often the answer was simple and hard to hear: home had become one more place that took energy instead of the place that gave it back. I understand what it takes to run a professional life at full speed, and how easily the personal one slips into the background while you do.
If you are a growth-driven partner who wants your relationship to fuel your ambition, this is what I do. I run workshops for small groups of partners who want to look at their relationship the way they already look at everything else that matters to them. I also speak at conferences, leadership events and podcasts on the subject nobody puts on the agenda: what happens to the person at home while the professional keeps winning. And if you would rather start on your own, I wrote a book and built a tool so the method works without me in the room.
The Missing System began with an uncomfortable observation. Every system my teams secured was monitored continuously, yet the most important partnership in my life was not watched at all. So I did what I do at work: I made someone responsible for looking, and that someone was me. The book’s four-direction framework and Gap Score turn “nothing is wrong” from the most dangerous sentence in a relationship into a number two people can actually talk about. I wrote it for the age of AI on purpose: as AI becomes remarkably good at understanding your partner and responding with empathy, the bar for how you show up in your relationship only rises. The Couple Compass is the same idea as a short, regular check-in you can do at home in a few minutes. The Missing System is my first book. It is out on 19 September 2026.
Between books, I write about relationships, drift, and the systems that keep two people aligned on Substack.
